My name’s Vanessa and I’m the face behind Madre Medicinas. My journey in allopathic medicine began in the operating room of the Alberta Children’s Hospital here in Calgary AB, which eventually led to my graduation from nursing. I worked Burns & Plastics, women’s gyne and palliative before leaving the system entirely to pursue something deeper.

After multiple traumatic birthing experiences, my entire life slow downed upon the arrival of our rainbow baby, my son Renzo. During this time I pursued herbalism, nutrition, and traditional Chinese medicine studies. This is when my apothecary business was manifested.

I was supposed to begin a doctorate in traditional Chinese medicine when God redirected me again with the pregnancy of our daughter Penelope. Following her birth is when I was accepted into the ORIGIN lineage of whole woman whole pelvic care. I proudly walk beside Alexandra Durigan and my fellow ORIGIN Keepers who are regenerating women’s health care culture.

My goal is to help empower women with various tools that reclaim sovereignty over their bodies // health choices and completely regenerate // shift their lineage.

From making garden potions as a little girl, to now owning my own herbal apothecary // ceremonial pelvic therapy business, is a dream come true.
